About
If you’re on the hunt for a delightful coffee experience in Brooklyn, look no further than Sippy Cafe, located at 153 Remsen St. This charming spot is quickly garnering attention among locals and visitors alike for its exceptional brews and inviting atmosphere.
Stepping inside Sippy Cafe feels like a warm embrace. The contemporary yet simple decor sets the stage for a no-frills experience focused on quality. As I scanned the menu, I was captivated by the unique offerings, especially their Asian-inspired lattes, a highlight that has impressed many patrons. The Soy Ube Latte, praised for its perfect balance of flavor and sweetness, stands out as a must-try. It manages to elevate the espresso without overpowering it with sweetness—a testament to the skill of their baristas.
Customer reviews speak volumes of Sippy Cafe’s commitment to quality. Juan Chavez describes the cafe as "great," particularly noting the variety of flavors at reasonable prices. Tiana Ou echoes this sentiment, sharing her love for the matcha options, which utilize ceremonial matcha that can be customized to your taste. I can envision sipping on a creamy matcha latte while reveling in its smooth richness, something that seems to be a common delight among patrons.
As I peruse the menu further, the black sesame latte piques my interest. Tiana’s friend likened it to a dessert, invoking the comfort of traditional black sesame rice cake. Paired with the green eggs and cheese sandwich, the combination promises an incredible culinary experience. Meanwhile, the classic drip coffee has caught the attention of many, praised for its bold, deep flavor profile that is both smooth and satisfying.
Sippy Cafe goes beyond just coffee; it’s a haven for sandwich lovers too. Susan Su highlighted the cafe as one of the top two coffee spots to visit in Brooklyn, further emphasizing their delicious offerings, including the Kami Tamago. She noted the quality of their matcha latte as well, which balances high-quality ingredients in every cup.
As a food reviewer, I am consistently on the lookout for hidden gems that capture the essence of local flavor. Sippy Cafe undoubtedly fits that bill with its friendly staff and expertly roasted coffee beans, making it a delightful spot for both coffee aficionados and casual drinkers alike. Whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for a leisurely brunch, Sippy Cafe promises an experience that will likely make your list of favorite cafes too.
Next time you find yourself in Brooklyn, don't miss the chance to visit Sippy Cafe. With its inviting atmosphere and exceptional flavors, it’s sure to become your go-to spot for a cup of joy.
“ Great coffee shop with some great coffee. A good variety of flavors and not too expensive. Staff is helpful and friendly. The latte was very tasty. Give them a try! ”
“ If you need a coffee run, add sippy cafe to your list. Their coffee is absolutely amazing, especially their unique Asian-inspired lattes. If you’re not a coffee lover, they have matcha options too. They use ceremonial matcha, which is already unsweetened. You can always ask for it to be sweetened to your liking. My friend tried the black sesame latte and the green eggs and cheese, and they were both incredible! She said the latte had a perfect balance of sweetness and it was like having a dessert. (kind of like black sesame rice cake) I got the classic drip, and it had a super bold, deep flavor that was smooth and delicious. They roast their own coffee beans, which I find very cool! Definitely made it to my cafe shop list! :) ”
“ Besides the Little Sweet Cafe, Sippy Cafe is the top two coffee shop you must visit in Brooklyn. Contemporary, simple, no-frills, quality drinks and sandwiches. We ordered green eggs and cheese, Kami Tamago, matcha latte, and regular latte. Both sandwiches were very delicious. Matcha latte was balanced using high quality matcha. Latte was the only thing that we didn’t enjoy, no coffee flavor. Overall, highly recommended. ”
“ Hands down the best Soy Ube Latte I’ve had in the US. Perfect balance of flavor and sweetness without drowning the espresso flavor in sugar or having the espresso overwhelm the ube. ”
“ Got a strawberry matcha latte. It was well made, well balanced sweetness. Seems like a nice place to grab matcha overall. ”
“ This is a coffee cafe with great additions to the menu. The place is smallish with only a few tables. Don't expect too much with the decor. No frills but works Ordered Truffle egg and cheese brioche. It is cooked/prepared as you order. Super. Excellent. Simply yummy . Not to take away anything from the sandwich itsef, I was told that the brioche comes from the notable Manhattan Baltazar bakery. The whole package just works in a fantastic way. One of the best egg and cheese sandwiches I have ever had. Got the ube latte (whole milk) Lovely latte art work. The color is just wonderful. The taste you ask? The coffee is smooth, refined and yet robust. Very nice balance. Wonderful coffee with a hint of ube. Did I mention that the croissants also are from Baltazar? ...with in house cookies and bread loads. One more thing...the service was superb. I had many questions and all were answered and explained in a graceful manner. Can't wait to go and try more of their offerings. This is a great place. Highly recommend ”
“ Update: they did such a good job elevating the space and making it more inviting with tables, decor and even a cute mandarin plant. Matcha Latte is consistently great! Original: Very decent matcha latte. I wish the ambiance had more character and was more inviting to stay. It is a clean cut, light space but feels too sterile and empty, so even if I want to stay and sit at the window to sip my drink I eventually head out. It is more of a take out place I feel. ”
“ Super great cafe! They hand lots of specialty drinks like lavender teas, ube lattes, and my personal favorite, strawberry matcha. Additionally they have tasty breakfast & lunch sandwiches as well as some sweet pastry options. The staff is always friendly and ready to meet all dietary restrictions. Totally recommend! ”
